6-14-23   THOUGHTS

God desires an up-close and personal relationship with His creation!  God wants His MIND in my mind.  When we say to our children “Mind me!”, we have the idea.  The text below at verse 11 says there is a connection between God’s Spirit dwelling in us and LIFE in us!  In this context, it makes sense to me that the LIFE is not some aimless, lethargic wanderer in life, but an excited, zealous, purposeful servant of the ONE WHO GIVES LIFE!  This is the man or woman who has so much truth in them that they cannot keep it in!  The joy of the story of Jesus and salvation through Him, spills over from an overflowing cup!  We must let God’s Spirit and His Word give us true life!  Eph 5:14 “For this reason it says, "Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you."  Absorb these powerful WORDS OF LIFE!  LET’S LIVE THEM!

Rom 8:10-16     If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.  11  But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. 12  So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh —  13  for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.  14  For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15  For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" 16  The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,
John 15:4   "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it  abides in the vine, so neither [can] you unless you abide in Me.”
1John 2:24   As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.
1John 4:11-13    Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12  No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. 13  By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

My Prayer:
Father, make the words we read above come alive within us.  Fill the cup of our lives to overflowing, that our world can see our Lord Jesus.  May we rejoice as we live powerfully, and may we not muddle our way through the precious time You give us.  Give us focus and energy and zeal.  Help us to think about the eternal things above.  As we abide in You, help us to be fruitful in the Church. Teach us to be a true loving fellowship, as we encourage love and good works among ourselves. O God, put Your mind in us that we may abide in You, and You in us.
In Jesus’ name,     Amen.
